Problem.Cockpit

Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

1. Service Description

Problem.Cockpit is a conversational root-cause analysis tool. The service uses AI-led first-principles drilling to help you identify the real problem beneath the stated problem. AI assists your thinking process but is not a substitute for professional judgment. All conclusions and decisions remain your responsibility.

2. Account Terms

One person per account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, including your password and magic link emails. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Payment Terms

The service costs $49 per month, billed via Polar. No refunds are issued for partial months. Your subscription renews automatically at the start of each billing cycle. You may cancel at any time through the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Problem.Cockpit for illegal activities, abusive or harmful queries, automated scraping or data extraction, or any purpose that violates applicable laws. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

5. Data Ownership

You own your session data, including problem statements, conversation transcripts, and any outputs generated during excavation sessions. You grant Problem.Cockpit a limited license to process and store this data solely for the purpose of operating the service. This license terminates when you delete your account.

6. AI-Generated Content

Responses generated during excavation sessions are AI-generated. They are not professional advice of any kind, including legal, financial, medical, or engineering advice. You are solely responsible for any decisions made based on the output of this tool. The AI may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading responses.

Conversations are processed by Claude, an AI model by Anthropic. Your problem statements and responses are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic's data retention policy applies to API usage.

7. Service Availability

Problem.Cockpit is provided on a best-effort basis. There is no service level agreement (SLA) for version 1. The service may have scheduled or unscheduled maintenance windows. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of planned maintenance in advance.

8. Account Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may cancel your subscription and delete your account through the application settings. Upon termination, your data will remain available for export for 30 days, after which it will be permanently deleted.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Problem.Cockpit and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service.

10. Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 30 days in advance via the email address associated with your account. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
